Production/Operations Associate
Northern Michigan University

Northern Michigan University is seeking applications for a Production/Operations Associate at WNMU-TV. The position provides a wide variety of television production support for studio, remote and on-air production products. Schedules, supervises and trains crew for studio productions. Edits interstitial material for broadcast. Assists with production of University sports events for broadcast and streaming.

Minimum qualifications: Associate’s Degree in Communications, Broadcasting, Multi-media Systems or related field. One year equivalent work experience in broadcast studio and field production.

Knowledge/skills/abilities required: Ability to operate broadcast equipment: camera, audio board, graphic computer, video switcher, etc. Ability to quickly learn to operate new equipment and software, and to teach others. Experience with both Mac and PC systems.
Editing experience with Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere. Ability to accurately concentrate on multiple tasks and details and function well under the pressure of daily deadlines. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively and function as a member of a team.
Ability to direct the work of others, to communicate work schedules, and to train and evaluate students, volunteers and interns. Ability to work occasional nights and weekends.

The position is traditionally Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm with occasional evening and weekend work required. The position is grant funded ending 6/30/2018 (subject to renewal). The targeted minimum salary is $33,889.
