Frequently Asked Questions Is Public TV 13 more than one channel? Public TV 13 broadcasts in digital on channels 13.1, 13.2 and 13.3 (VHF) 24 hours a day.
After installing a new digital TV or converter box, antenna viewers will need to re-scan their channels in order to find our 3 digital channels, and other local digital channels. See below for instructions for cable viewers. How can I watch Public TV 13’s three channels? Over-the-air antenna viewers will need either a set-top digital TV converter box or a television set equipped with a digital ATSC tuner. Viewers in fringe areas may need to upgrade their antennas in order to receive digital TV. For tips on digital reception and converter boxes, see our Digital TV FAQ. Can I get more than one Channel 13 on cable? Many cable viewers with digital TVs now have the option of tuning in more than one Channel 13. On the Charter Cable basic tier, all three of our digital channels (and six other locals) are available for subscribers with digital TVs equipped with QAM tuners. You will need to re-scan the cable channels to find the new digital channels. This scanning can take 10 minutes or more, so be patient. You do not need to subscribe to the digital tier to receive these channels, but viewers with older cable installations may need to call Charter and request that they replace a filter that blocks digital channels. Charter digital tier subscribers can find SD channels 13.3 and 13.1 on 313 and 314. Charter HD tier subscribers will find TV13/HD 13.2 on Charter channel 783. Other area cable companies also have the option of picking up Public TV 13’s additional channels, and some plan to upgrade their service to include them. Call your local cable provider for more information. Can I purchase a copy of one of Public TV 13's local productions? Our local documentaries and some episodes of our local series’ are available for purchase. Please see our Video Sales page for details. Where's my FanFare?
No matter the problem, please contact us at 800-227-9668. We'll immediately send you a FanFare and correct the problem. Why has FanFare shrunk? Where are the weekend daytime program listings? When postal rates went up we had a significant, unexpected increase in mailing costs for FanFare. In an effort to keep costs in line with what we have been spending in the past, we decided that it was necessary to cut down the size of the guide in order to use the Post Office's "letter-sized" bulk mail rate. Reducing the overall size of the publication without adding extra pages meant cutting some content. We decided that cutting the weekend daytime listings was preferable to cutting out the photo/highlight boxes or cutting program descriptions overall. Daytime programs are listed in our daytime grid, found on page 4 of FanFare. You can also find complete listings on our schedule grid page. Where's my Thank-You gift?
