This CG-animated series follows the dance-filled adventures of Angelina Ballerina, the remarkable little mouseling with big dreams of becoming a prima ballerina. Based on the original best-selling children’s book series by author Katharine Holabird and illustrator Helen Craig, ANGELINA BALLERINA follows the now eight-year-old Angelina as she embarks on the next stage in her life at a performing arts school, Camembert Academy. This new series finds Angelina making new friends and experiencing various forms of music and dance, including ballet, modern, tap, jazz, classic, as well as ethnic dances from around the world. When children share in Angelina’s experiences, they’re inspired to pursue their dreams, too!

Between the LionsBetween the Lions

Lion-librarians Theo and Cleo and their clubs Lionel and Leona run a library like no other on earth. The doors "between the lions" swing open to reveal a magical place where characters pop off the pages of books, vowels sing, and words take on a life of their own. Between the Lions emphasizes both the pleasures and values of reading, as well as the skills needed for learning how to read.  In just it's first year on the air, Between the Lions was recognized with a rare endorsement from the National Education Association (the first series in 10 years that they've endorsed), received 7 Daytime Emmy Nominations, received a Television Critics Award for Outstanding Achievement in Children's Programming, a Parent's Gold Choice Award for Best TV Show for Kids 4-7 years old, and received the International Reading Association's 2001 Broadcast Media Award for Television in the category Children's Programs. The Between the Lions companion Web site has received high marks, as well, and offers fun and games for the kids along with great information for parents & teachers.

BOB THE BUILDER is a stop frame, animated series aimed at preschoolers (two-to-five-year olds). Each episode follows the adventures of Bob and his machines: Scoop the leader/digger, Muck the digger/dumper, Dizzy the cement mixer, Lofty the crane and Roley the steamroller. Bob's business partner, Wendy, and Pilchard the cat also help out in the builder's yard. Other characters include Farmer Pickles, his tractor, Travis, and the naughty scarecrow Spud-- who is always up to mischief.

The CURIOUS GEORGE series also aims to show parents and caregivers how to foster the development of science and math literacy in children. In addition to programming, the series is supported by a substantial educational outreach campaign that develops relevant materials and distributes them to librarians, teachers, community centers, and families. These materials offer activities designed to support and extend the learning objectives of the series.

Advised by Public TV 13 producer and director Bob Thomson, students from Northern Michigan University are responsible for all aspects of the newscast: anchoring the news desk, writing stories, operating cameras, directing the show and producing local news packages. Public Eye News provides not only an excellent training ground for students, but also an entertaining and informative news source for viewers in the Upper Great Lakes Region. The program combines local news stories, sports highlights, weather reports and national news packages into a brief, yet comprehensive, look at the news.

THOMAS AND FRIENDS is the timeless television series based on the much-loved books by Reverend W. Awdry. Set on the imaginary island of Sodor, the show follows the adventures of Thomas, a cheeky little Tank Engine. Each half hour, shot in unique real-time live-action, features three separate stories, including two seven-minute adventures and one five-minute "classic" Thomas story. The stories focus on the seven original engines: Thomas, Edward, James, Gordon, Percy, Henry and Toby, plus Emily, the first female steam engine, all under the watchful eye of Sir Topham Hatt, the manager of the Sodor Railway. At the end of each program, the engines are "roll-called" in a musical finale featuring their very own team song. Thomas's world is an idealized place with a strong community ethos typified by a universal willingness to embrace good manners, hard work and a desire to be "really useful." The themes are reinforced by unique graphic and live-action interstitials and songs. The audience empathizes with the hopes, fears, aspirations, achievements and conflicts that the engines experience.

Disguised as mild-mannered 5th grader, Becky Botsford, WordGirl arrived on planet Earth when she and her monkey sidekick, Captain Huggy Face, crashed their spaceship. In classic superhero form, WordGirl possesses superhero strength with the added benefit of a colossal vocabulary. WordGirl has a family and friends who have no idea of her secret identity. As WordGirl, she battles and prevails over evil (albeit ridiculous and comical) villains. WordGirl is a superhero spoof, so storylines are funny takes of familiar stories from that genre.
