We want to extend a warm welcome to the newest member of our team! Ellen is WNMU-TV’s new Engagement Coordinator for the Michigan Learning Channel.
The Michigan Learning Channel is a statewide public television partnership offering instructional content to support the education of students and to provide alternative resources for families and teachers. Designed to enrich school learning, the instructional content is aligned with Michigan’s educational standards and follows widely accepted sequences for mastering skills throughout the school year.
Ellen’s role is to connect learners and families to the content available on the MLC via school and community outreach and partnerships. She will be instrumental in bringing the channel’s many opportunities into homes across the Upper Peninsula. Here are a few fun facts for you to get to know Ellen:
- Ellen graduated fromNorthern Arizona University in 2005 & 2007 with BA and MA degrees in English Education and Teaching English as a Second Language.
- Ellen loves to travel and has been to over 12 countries. She lived and taught in Thailand and is now settled in Michigan’s U.P!
- Ellen’s favorite program on the Michigan Learning Channel is POP Check which teaches young learners mindfulness tools for social emotional growth!
