WNMU will host an expert panel discussion on Tuesday, September 27 at 7/6c at NMU's Northern Center, focusing on suicide awareness and prevention in Upper Michigan .
Please join us Tuesday, September 27 at 7 pm ET for a "town hall" on suicide awareness and prevention in Upper Michigan. In a continuing effort to advance conversations surrounding mental health, WNMU-TV will host an expert panel discussion, inspired by the PBS documentary Facing Suicide premiering in September. The event will be held in person at NMU's Northern Center, and will also be available to stream online.
The panel will feature area mental health professionals who will discuss sections of the film, including how to identify warning signs, and spotlight local organizations and resources that provide help and hope.
This event is FREE and open to the public. Community members from across the Upper Peninsula are encouraged to attend in person or virtually. If you plan to attend in person you can register here in advance, but registration is not required. Please note: masks are optional at the in-person event.
For more information, and links to register and/or stream live, visit Facing Suicide: Town Hall Discussion.
Facing Suicide premieres on Tuesday, September 13, at 9 PM (EDT), on WNMU-TV PBS and your local PBS station. Watch or stream anytime online, or on the PBS Video App.
This event was made possible with grant funds from TPT (Twin Cities PBS) and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
