WNMU Passport is the new WNMU-TV member benefit that provides you with extended access to an on-demand library of quality local and national public television programming. With access to tens of thousands of hours of your favorite programs, WNMU Passport allows you to watch even more episodes of your favorites, including full seasons of many current and past series.
Highlights include every past episode of award-winning MASTERPIECE favorites like Grantchester, Endeavour and Poldark. You can watch hundreds of hours of NATURE, NOVA, ANTIQUES ROADSHOW, AMERICAN EXPERIENCE, FINDING YOUR ROOTS, THE GREAT BRITISH BAKING SHOW, THE FRENCH CHEF WITH JULIA CHILD, and so much more.

What is WNMU Passport?
WNMU Passport is a new member benefit which provides WNMU-TV Partners extended on-demand access to a rich library of quality public television programming online and via your mobile device or streaming device.
Who is eligible for WNMU Passport?
WNMU Passport is the newest member benefit available from WNMU-TV for Partners with a yearly contribution of at least $60 or an ongoing monthly contribution of $5 or more. It cannot be purchased separately. Streaming video from WNMU Passport is only available within the United States at this time.
I am a current WNMU-TV sustainer. How do I access WNMU Passport?
Current WNMU-TV Sustainers who have pledged $60 or more annually are eligible for WNMU Passport membership. Email our Membership Coordinator Sarah Stanley at sastanle@nmu.edu to activate your account. You can also request your WNMU Passport activation by calling (906) 227-9668 during business hours (Monday-Friday, 8-5 pm ET).
What kind of content can I find on WNMU Passport?
WNMU Passport includes thousands of hours of programming, representing many genres, including drama, science, history, natural history and the arts. Notable titles include MASTERPIECE series such as Downton Abbey, Victoria, Grantchester and Poldark along with other favorites such as NATURE, GREAT PERFORMANCES, THE GREAT BRITISH BAKING SHOW, THE FRENCH CHEF WITH JULIA CHILD and many more. The WNMU Passport library will continue to grow as more series and episodes are added.
To find WNMU Passport content, look for videos with the blue compass icon. Those videos are only available to users who are registered for WNMU Passport.
Are locally-produced WNMU-TV programs available in WNMU Passport?
WNMU Passport also includes local programs: HIGH SCHOOL BOWL, MEDIA MEET, ASK THE EXPERTS, and some local history documentaries. (Our local programs are freely accessible to anyone at wnmuvideo.nmu.edu or PBS.org — you don’t need a WNMU Passport membership to watch them.)
Will there still be free streaming on wnmuvtv.nmu.edu and PBS.org?
PBS content will continue to be available for free on PBS.org, on our station website, and on all other digital platforms. Some free content has a limited window of availability after the program airs.
Certain content, including PBS Kids, locally-produced WNMU-TV programs, news and public affairs programs such as FRONTLINE, PBS NEWSHOUR, INDEPENDENT LENS and POV, will continue to be freely accessible to everyone. WNMU Passport provides extended access to a rich library of content for WNMU Partners to enjoy.
Can I access WNMU Passport content on all devices and platforms?
WNMU Passport can be accessed with your web browser on wnmuvideo.nmu.edu and PBS.org, and on the PBS Apps for mobile devices, and on the PBS Channels and Apps on Apple TV, Roku, Chromecast, Amazon Fire TV and Android Smart TVs.
Is WNMU Passport available outside the U.S.?
Streaming video from WNMU Passport is only available within the United States, but will soon be available in Canada.
How do I know that my WNMU Passport activation worked?
After you have activated WNMU Passport, when you sign in at PBS.org or wnmuvideo.nmu.edu, you should see a blue Passport compass icon next to your name at the top of the page and you should be able to view Passport-only videos.
